How China is Getting Involved in Recycling

Investigation into how China is dealing with the current issue of waste recycling. I will analyze the reasons for the Chinese ban on the import of plastic to be recycled from foreign countries, and I will highlight the new rules that this country is implementing to improve the pollution situation

PESENTER – SOFIA Grade 8 
I am an Italian student in 8th grade from NIS which is really interested in recycling. I have many years of recycling experience in my home country. I know the problems about adapting the population to waste recycling

 

Student Engagement and Leanring Atmosphere in Science and Maths Classrooms

Discussion on possible ways to improve the overall student engagement and learning atmosphere in classrooms.

IB Science and Math Teachers

The audience will learn about how to improve student learning experience in IB science and math classrooms.

Basics of Game Design

Brief explanation about the steps of creating a game, how they effect the game play and gamer, and the approach to student gamers

WORKSHOP OUTCOMES
The teachers will have a basic understanding of how a game is made, the elements that the steps contain, and perhaps a new perspective on games and gamers

I am a student who is interested in design and art, and also video games. I have started learning video game designing with unreal engine 4 by researching on the web, and watching several lectures about it.

How to use creativity to boost engagement, out of the box thinking and problem solving.

EAL Student Surviving Kit

Sharing her personal understanding, thoughts and ideas about how a student whose first language isn’t English can “survive successfully” in Middle School at an International School.

I am a Chinese student in grade 9 so my first language isn’t English. I found it really hard to adjust myself and fit myself in to international school when I first came, and after 3 years’ experience in NIS, I learned a lot.

WORKSHOP OUTCOMES
Students will provide an overview of their CNU experience with some reflection on the process. Participants will be given an opportunity to undertake the initial idea generating phase of the project.
