There is plenty to do around Shanghai. Here is a list of some of the main sites of interest:
Era-Intersection of Time
A show hosted at the Shanghai Circus World. It has been dubbed as the “Chinese Cirque du Soleil”. It features a wide range of Chinese acrobatics and music.
Jing’an Temple
As the biggest temple in Shanghai City, Jing’an is located right in the middle of downtown. After you visit the beautiful Buddhist temple, you can walk down Nanjing Road, or go to the Kerry Center for dining and shopping.
The Bund and the Former French Concession
This area was under French Control in the early 20th century. As a result, it has become a cultural heritage area with lots of French architecture and old buildings. It extends from the Bund walkway into mainland Puxi. Boat cruises on the Huangpu river are a great attraction to do at night. Boats depart every 30 minutes (11am-9.30pm) from the Shiliupu port and tickets are 120RMB for a 50 minutes tour.
Lujiazui
This is the major metropolitan area of Shanghai. Here you can find all the skyscrapers and malls and traffic. This is as urban as it gets.
